Why you should always be learning

People always say that being an over achiever is bad. I am hire to tell you it isn’t. Not only is it a good thing. It is one of the things that keep me going.

I love research, and the minut I say this it might seam like an understatement. But I am that person that looks up everything. When someone talks about something and I don’t know about it, I look it up to figure out what it exactly is.

This means that consuming information is one of my biggest hobbies in an odd sense. And for a while I stopped doing that and started limiting myself to what I was learning in school. Not because I didn’t want to know more but because people told me to.

Learning isn’t studying

Think about it. Not everyone loves to study and I get that. Yes, I am kind of a nerd hey 🙂 But regardless of that we like to put learning and studying in the same category. Studying is trying to cram information. When learning is something you do every day, just by asking questions and talking to people.

Any information is good information

Wether you are learning something just because you like it or because someone told you so. The resisters towards a subject can really ruin everything.  All information you absorb is good. People say that some skills they learn in school won’t be useful in later life. According to me they are, every single thing you learn is a good thing. There is nothing like useless information if you look at it the right way.

No one is stupid

Einstein and a relatively small brain mass.  This might surprise you, I know I was shocked when I read it. This made me realise that it’s what you do whit information that counts not what you are genetically blessed with.  The more you are going to try to expose yourself to information, the more you will learn. It’s importent to make different connections in your brain to be ‘smarter’ and this you can do by just being curious.

Why Talking to yourself can benefit your producivity

Talking to yourself

Let me just say it, I talk to myself, a lot. When I was younger people used to think I was crazy. I would lock my door and read to myself, afterwards I would tell myself what I read. It sounds odd but that is how I used to learn.

Denying it

I used to try my hardest not to do it. My grades went down dramatically from not talking to myself and not saying things out loud. It was not done so I didn’t do it. My teachers always told me to make summaries and write things down. Even if I still make summaries and write down what I am learning I don’t spend that much time making things look pretty and neat as I used to. When people think productivity and learning they always think you should be sitting behind a desk and that just doesn’t work for everyone.

The truth

There’s nothing wrong with talking to yourself. Lot’s of studies have proven that taking to yourself is great for your memory (here just to prove a point). The most brilliant minds like Einstein talked to themselves so why can’t we? Our auditorial memory is a great tool to use so let’s use it.

How I study now

Now I am not shy to walk out of a room and study. Up to the beginning of this year I was shy to study this way and thought I was abnormal. Now I walk out of class and just run true the halls revising my papers out loud. It might sound odd but I detest sitting down so I don’t anymore and it’s the best decision I have ever made.

Planner system that actually works



My best friend. Honestly they are the key to productivity. But you need to use them the right way to get what you want out of them. I used to use my planner wrongly for a very long time. I never really had an idea on how to use it.

Most people will just say write in it. And to a curtain degree I agree with that. But that is not what makes this system work.

Monthly goals

Every month I check witch projects need to be completed. This are the big things I want to get done that specific month. I write those down on post it notes and stick them in the beginning of my planner.


Check list

After I have identified my goals I make a check list. This list includes every single thing that needs to be completed to reach that goal.

Weekly plan

Every week I take a small part of that checklist and add it to my weekly plan. Now I can see myself actively working on something. To me that’s just an amazing feeling.

Daily plan

This will maybe surprise you but every single evening I check what I planed for that day. And I ask myself if I can complete it. Some tasks are not fun to do, so I give myself more time to complete them. Let me give you an example, I am not a big quantum physics fan so instead of spending a full hour on the assignment I hate. I will spend 10 minutes on it that week. This makes it bearable and sometimes even enjoyable.

To do list

Yep I couldn’t leave this one out could I? I love my to do list. It’s that one thing I can’t live without. Every night after I have checked my goals I write my to do list. Checking it off as I go the next day.

Planning for the future

I have a big planner and I hate taking it with me. So I simply don’t. In my to do list book there is a note section. Behind every to do list I can write down witch dates I am given. All the deadlines that I am given, I write down in the notes. When I get home I transfer it to my agenda. The good thing about this is that you aren’t taking a lot of suff with you. And you are forced to open up that agenda.

How to reduce your stress levels and get more done


Stress, we all deal with it. And I had it a lot. But somehow I’ve learned to reduce my stress significantly by just using my thoughts. It sounds to good to be true but I can tell you I am a much happier person.

Identify the situation.

The situation at had is not always as complicated as we think. I am an over thinker. If you would leave me alone in a room, I would just go crazy. But I have realised the bast way to deal with this is to know what you should be doing. What is it about? Does it need my attention?

What can I do?

There are so many things we don’t have control over. That was one of the hardest things for me to accept. Just because I am a control freak. If something doesn’t need my attention or I can’t change it, why do I worry? This is one of the best mindsets you can have as a person. I put myself out there on the internet and everyone can see. I don’t have control over people liking me or not. So why would I worry?

Problem solver

If there is a problem, think of a solution and do it. This is something I have had a hard time learning. Recently I have because a lot cleaner, just because I changed my mindset. I don’t want to have to clean up every time I want to study so I clean up after my session. Simple things like that make my life so much easier and less stressful.

How to be extraordinary, finding your talents and pursuing your dreams)

We are al special human beings and we all have something to offer the world. At least that’s what people will tell you. But how do you find what you have to offer? Today I will explain my story and why I started blogging and all the things that happened along the way. 

Look, I’m not the most successful blogger out there. By far not, but I think if only one person could read this and understand it and maybe learn from it, my mission is complete.

The odd kid

You know,  the odd kid that sits behind in class.. That was me, the girl with really big glasses and a stutter who loved books. I know right this equals nurd. Believe me a lot of people told me.

The older I got I wanted to be more like everyone els. I went to extreme lengths. We all do and how much someone will tell us we shouldn’t we still do. In middle school my friends where all death metal fans. Although I can appreciate it, it’s not really my genre. But I tried so hard to listen to it and to love it, forgetting my own interests. The way I dresses, talked, walked… It was all not me. At that age I really thought that was THE ONLY WAY to live life. I got so depressed because I was depraving myself of what I loved.

My advise to anyone who thinks this is the only to be socially accepted is try it. Try being like the others for a bit. This is needed to understand other peoples behaviour. But when you are alone, do what you love. No one is watching you!

This is how you will slowly find yourself and break out of that mould the older you get.  This is how you will learn to understand yourself and your own abilities.

You are not her (be extraordinary)

Everyone compares themselves with others. Especially teenage girls. They can be very judgemental. This makes most of us think we need to be the same way to ourselves. The amount of nights I spent thinking about why curtain people are popular, have boyfriends, better grades… is countless. But honestly it has never ever helped me with anything exact learning how to cover the bags under my eyes because of thinking the entire night.

There is nothing wrong with not being the pretty popular girl in high school. In fact almost no one was. It’s only a handful of people who are popular and that doesn’t mean the rest is doomed to internal loneliness.

You are you, they are obviously not being themselves so don’t compare yourself with a copy of the perfect girl. She doesn’t exist. The fact that you aren’t her makes you extraordinary.

Finding your talent

As children we are all drown to something. I love books, the smell, the story,  the art.. That has been my thing from when I was 3. According to my mum I tried to teach myself how to read because I hated my caretakers in kindergarten rereading the same books.  That was my crazy thing. The day I learned how to write, my life changed. Literarily, I was always writing my feelings down on paper. My old diaries are everywhere, with misspelled and unrecognisable words. I never let anyone read anything I wrote. It was my little secret. The older I got I lost touch with my passion. Not because I didn’t love it as much, I became a freaking realist. I can thank CNN and Google for this one.. I started looking up statistics and realised it was unlikely for me ever to become a writer that actually gets paid. 

I felt like I couldn’t monitor my success and measure it.  This says a lot about me and how many economic classes I’ve been taking the past years. But my point is,  just because something isn’t giving you money doesn’t mean it’s not worth doing.

Even if it’s doing what you love in your free time, it will never ever be a wast and I wish I realised that. We all have a talent, but we are afraid to share it with the world because we don’t want to be judged.

Following your dreams

I realised that writing a book and getting published was a great thing to do. But in reality only a small presented of writers ever get that chance. My mums best friend (i will link her blog below) told me about blogging and about the different things you could do with it. She explained people where actually getting paid to write articles and put them on the internet. This seamed like a great idea to me. I wanted to give my writing a fighting chance. If no one would read my blog I could delete it and pretend it had never existed. The fear of getting judged was a big one when I started blogging. I only told my mum I was going to start a blog and the then 20 people who I had on instagram. It was a very big secret, non of my friends knew about it. Non of them even knew I had instagram, I was so afraid of being labeled vain and stupid that I just kept it to myself. And honestly this was one of the best choses I maid. If anyone of my friends would start asking me about it and laughing about it I would have quite. But once I had a substantial following and got comfortable I told people about it. Better jet I started inducing myself posting my blog and instgram links on twitter and facebook. Now when you see me and ask what I’ve been doing trust me you will get my blogging address. It is now a part of my life and I take a lot of pride in every single article I write.

And you know what to quote Ed Sheeran “I do it for the love waiting on the gold rush”. I don’t care if I will be blogging without getting any pay for ever. I will come home from work and blog every night if I have to. I love it and I put in the work, thats the most important thing.

Just remember

Life is what you make it, be yourself, explore your talents and become amazing.

How to be more positive and have a better life 

People who are positive have a better outlook on life’s challenges. And I’ve realised what’s making me happy laltely.

I’ve had a difficult time with depression for a long time. But resentrly I started to take back control and I feel like I figered out how to stay happy. This is how I do it!

Finding a purpose

By this I don’t mean anything religious, or the new Justin Biener album! (Don’t lie you wear thinking of it) I mean having a plan for your life and knowing what you want.  Just focusing your time on somthing relevent is one of the best things to do. It’s also a great distruciton.

Get rid of everyone who brings you down

I still struggle with this now. It’s hard to tell people to leave. But I’ve seen the benefits positive people can give you.

My mum got every negative person out of her life. And could see her strugeling. But she is so happy now, and I really think it’s one of the best things to do for your self worth.

Being a little selfish

Sometimes you have to do things for yourself. It’s great to be there for others but sometimes it’s good to think of yourself.

Just try to do 1 thing for yourself every day and you will see, everything will change. Your self worth will slowly encires.

The daily compliment

Even if I look like crap, like  that’s every morning (lol). I try giving myself a comprising. Even if it’s about my shoes that day, loving something about yourself is important! And a little tipe, write your compliment with an erasable marker on the mirror in the morning. In the evening you still will see that compliment befor you go to bed. Even if you have a bad that, it will be an awsome pick me up.

5 Life hacks that make you feel like you got your life togethe

It’s hard for any human to feel like they got there shit together every single day. But it’is time to put on those grown up pants and take controle!

1. Make your bed

There is nothing more embarrassing than having that hot dude come up to your room and your bed isn’t made. Talk about bad impressions. 

2. Keep your handbag empty

Every evening when you come home. Just empty your bag. All the papers and stuff you collected that you don’t need, trow it out! Doing this daily will make it easier to switch bags and keep it clean.

3. Buy a planner and use it

Knowing what you are doing and when you are doing it is one of the best ways to stay organised. A paper agenda is the best option, just because it’s a physical object you have to look at every day! I promise you every you pull out your planner, you will feel like a grown ass adult!

4. Set deadlines

Give yourself a deadline on when to get things done. It should be at least 2 to 4 days before you actually needs to be done.

5. Check your email

Don’t be that person with 500 emails waiting. You don’t have any excuses. Only subscribe to the mailing lists you really need. And those of you who think it makes you feel impotent, no it doesn’t. 😊

How to mange your online life

As a blogger I live on the internet. I am constantly on social media. It can get overwhelming.With notifications popping up from literarily every direction, I have a guid on how to deal with this. 

Block out internet time

Ever morning after my run I block out 1 hour to replay to comments, check my email, read blog posts… You take time to read a magazine and empty your letter box, why not online?

Have separate emails

Yes I am that crazy person with 3 different email addresses. I’ve got one for all social media, one for my blog and one for personal stuff. This makes it easy to attend to every one of them. You can start with the most important account and then go to the least important one on busy days 

Centralise your messages

Tell people to contact you only via one messaging app. I tell everyone to use iMessage to talk to me. This makes it a lot easier to check how the hell is texting me at 3am (grrrrrrr)

Mange notifications

Don’t have notifications for things like angry birds popping up on your screen. Go into your phone settings and only keep the notifications you really want to see.

How to set up a productive workspace (for anyone trying to get things done)

So you want to work and be productive? But every time you walk into your workspace you don’t do anything? I was there! And this is how I got out of this downwards spiral.

Clean up

Dedicate a day to cleaning up the hole space. Wear your comfortable clothes and  get going.

Empty desk

I like to keep my desk as neutral as possible. This will end up calming you down.

The chair

I know finding a pretty one is hard. Trust me mine isn’t photogenic at all but it gets the job done. It’s very importent to be comfortable


I know you have a stack of unsorted papers laying around if you are reading this. So please just check what you need. Scan any papers you think you will need and keep them digital. This will make your life a lot easier.

Dedicate time

Every time you enter and leave your office make it a habit to clean it up. I don’t mean really wiping down the desk and vacuuming. But just making shore there are no things laying around that should not be there.

So you want to achieve your life goals?  You want to be amazing at anything you do? This is my guid to getting exactly what you want!

After watching almost every documentary about entrepreneurs under the sun, I thought I should share my knowledge.

Every single one of all people we look up to have something in common.They have a plan, they know exactly where they are and where they are going.

Think of a GPS, you can’t reach your destination without putting in the route.

This is how to plan ahead.

Realise what you want

Sit down and think of all the things you want to do in life. Imagene how it would look like and right down every element.

Set goals

How do you get to that perfect life? Think of all the things that are on your list and write shot term goals.

Daily little things

Put those short term goals where you can see then. As my math teacher used to say “frame them above your bed”. Ever morning when you plan think of those big goals and if what you are doing is bringing you closer to succes.

Morning productivity 

Waking up early is my thing now. It’s the perfect way to get everything going #amazing.

I try to wake up around 5:30am. I stop working at 5pm. This leaves me a lot of spare time at night. In the morning I start working at 6 and stop around 7:30. In this short period of time a can get lots of work done!

But how the hell do I do it?

Here are some tips to wake up that early bird in you

  1. Have breakfast

I am very quick to skip breakfast. But I’ve learned that it’s one of the best things to start your day.  It doesn’t need to be fancy.

  1. Fun alarm

Even if it’s Drake, Ed sheeran, Beyoncé… Chose a song you love that will make you enthusiastic to start your day. My alarm is flawless by Beyoncé just to feed the ego 😉

I have selected a handful of songs I would wake up for on Spotify.

  1. Set a goal

If you have been following me for some time you know I love my lists. And making a list the night before us time well spent.

Exame preparation 

As finals are tight around the corner I tought it would be great to share some of my tips.

On the Internet you don’t really find tips for se exam day itself so I tought I would share.

#1 eat

If you are like me you hate wasting time and are the first to compromise on this one. Just don’t, put the scale away for the week!

#2 take brakes

I know you want to do a lot but the minute you get tired stop! Otherwise you won’t remember anything you studied 

I#3 different angle

Try to study from different sources. Not just your tekstbook. Use the Internet and YouTube for a fresh outlook. I recommend crash course on YouTube.

#4 read before bed

Right before you go to bed, skim the material
